This is how the basic three by three strand appears before working up to a finished (smaller) diameter. This is a white nylon cord approx 1/8" diameter. By taking some of the slack out of the bights (loops) and working the extra line around to the ends the size is reduced.

Double pass 7 by 23

This double pass nylon bracelet is about 1 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" diameter made from a soft core parachute cord so it is flexible but holds shape nicely. The design is based on the "Diamond Pattern" page 241 in the Ashley Book of Knots.
