ocean and sky rope bracelet 824

One of my favorite color combinations light blue and light turquoise green that combined recall the atmosphere of southern latitudes. These photos are a bit on the cool side so the green is not quite as bright as it is in sunlight. The blue cords are on the outside the green is in the center.

This is a nice medium 8" inside diameter that will stretch slightly. This design is also available in smaller sizes to fit teens and children as well as larger sizes to fit bigger hands.
Visit this blog page to take your measurements    figure the fit  then check the online shops to see what is available. Remember that custom sizes can be ordered at the regular prices. Just send a message with your size and color requirements.

Traditional herringbone pattern weave design in five new colors.

Sizes are  "medium" measuring 8" (203 mm) inside circumference. As with all bracelets of this design there is some stretch owing to the double overlap weave pattern.

Solid color rope bracelets are available here if you don't see the design you like please make a request. Keeping all these in-stock not possible BUT they can be custom made just for you in a few days.
All are hand made of hand dyed cotton and cotton-polyester blend cords. The loose ends are stitched to prevent unraveling and then trimmed off. All will shrink somewhat when wet.

turquoise and sky rope bracelet 843

Blue and green together are an almost irresistible combination of colors. Maybe it's the affinity we feel with the warm oceans.

Here's a combination of turquoise and medium blue that reminds me of summer.

End stitching the cords is something that holds the bracelet together and prevents unraveling. This end stitching is standard on all non adjustable bracelets sold in the online venues.

See the little white thread tails? That's the end stitching. It's done with 4 ply waxed nylon thread. Look for the end stitching tail on rope bracelets made by WhatKnotShop

blue herringbone weave rope bracelet 804

This is another herringbone weave pattern made from a very low density hardware store variety cotton cord.  The dye is a dark blue color. The knot is worked up to a firm shape and the soft cord keeps the resulting bracelet flexible.

In this view you can see the braiding pattern of the cord. It's pretty open and prone to snagging. The material takes the dye very well though.

anemone bracelet

Now this is starting to get interesting...

A sea anemone is a polyp, attached at the bottom to the surface beneath it by an adhesive foot, called a pedal disk, with a column shaped body ending in an oral disk. The mouth is in the middle of the oral disk, surrounded by tentacles armed with many cnidocytes, which are cells that function as a defense and as a means to capture prey. (Wikipedia)

This is of course a replica made from cotton cord and nylon thread and able to be worn as a bracelet.

Still a work in progress....

)strata( design blue & green with blue glass beads item 318

Working small glass beads into the spaces between the cords creates a tiny bit of sparkle. Now the larger bead on the rim catches the light in a blue green dicrotic crackle.

The cotton cords are blue in center with green layers and a grey accent.

Adult "small" to "medium"
7" (178 mm) inside circumference
2 1/8" (54 mm) inside diameter
5/8" (18 mm) at widest point

Hand dyed bound cotton cord.

Shabby chic to go with an all cotton sweater and jeans.

blue nylon turks head item 321

Top view of a blue nylon turks head made with a very soft woven nylon cord. This cord has a nice feel to it, very smooth. The drawback is that the surface threads get tangled during the weaving process. Almost like working with a loose laid wool.

Edge view showing the 17 x 5 x 2 pattern.

Color is a true blue through and through.

Size is adult "medium" with plenty of "give"
7 1/8" inside circumference
2 1/4" inside diameter
1 1/8" wide

This material is quite elastic such that a fully drawn up knot still has quite a bit of flex or stretch to it.

new )strata( design in blue and white with nested beads

OK so I have a lot of time to work on these since the weather turned cold and outdoor activities have slowed down.

Here's another slightly wider slip-on style )strata( with blue beads and a mix of white and blue with a bit of grey for an accent.

The edge view shows the layers. This one was tougher to get sewed together as it is a bit wider than some of the others. It's securely stitched with 4 ply waxed nylon thread.

There are two larger blue "crow" beads with a pair of smaller frosted blue glass beads tucked between them. The beads are nested tightly in the weave of the bracelet and are sewn in with nylon thread.

lightweight and all cotton (except for the nylon thread and beads)

7 1/2" inside circumference = adult medium to large size
2 1/4" inside diameter
varies from 1" wide at the beads to 1 1/2" at the widest point
