another group of two strand random color rope bracelets 4005

Extra pieces of cord are produced frequently during the development of color sets. A batch of bracelets is made and a few ends remain often not large enough to make a full three strand design. These narrower two strand designs are the result…

Sizes are non-standard based on the length of the remainder cord. Ok you can ask for custom sizes but the color might be different.

bright blue and green rope bracelet 3332

Amping up the blue with this aquamarine and pairing with a real green takes this popular combination to a new level. Readers of this blog have seen variations of these colors in more subtle blends of teal and lighter less saturated blues paired with softer greens.

This one is brighter, I think it's the aquamarine… a liquid RIT dye color not available in the dry packets.
Classic 17 part double diamond weave design made out of 3 mm cord.

beaded turks head knot bracelet 3062

Here's another beaded knot bracelet made with hand dyed cotton cord and seed beads.

The cord is a 3 mm smooth surface cotton that has been dyed a tan/taupe color. Read more about the small batch dye process here.

The beads are 8/0 Toho seed beads strung on 4 ply high strength nylon thread.
The bracelet is constructed with the two outer strands. The beads are strung on the thread then interwoven into the two strand knot. Read more about Placing the center strand here.

I like the sympathetic color relationship between the beads and the cord color. This is a "small" size bracelet made to demonstrate the concept and color. Larger sizes can be made to order.

beaded white turks head knot bracelet 2945

Traditional three part braided turks head knot rope bracelet that has been blinged up with a center strand of 3 mm clear glass beads. The beads have an interior coating that gives them a rainbow colored effect which the camera filters out quite effectively.

Here's a blue-green design you might enjoy.

Here's a tan design you might like.
This one came out a nice "medium" size 7 1/2" (191 mm)

The bead string is secured a each end so there is flexibility like with other rope bracelets.

The beads are all glass so this bracelet has a bit more mass.

grey paracord turks head knot bracelet 2470

550 paracord is a popular material for crafters including the survival bracelet market (can't survive without a nylon bracelet? - nice!). This design is not intended to be unraveled in an emergency but it does make a stylish accessory.

This is a silver grey color cord available from u-braid-it braiding supply company. I buy from them because they offer great customer service and quick shipping.
This bracelet is a 12 x 5 x 3 design made from a double diamond pattern. This requires the use of a mold to hold the cords in place while the knot is developed. The double diamond pattern is too complex to be tied "in-the-hand" the way some of these turks heads are done.

My bracelets are NOT pre-shrunk but are made with new cord materials. This means that you can buy a larger size and expect the bracelet to shrink on your wrist. This example is 7 1/2" (191 mm) circumference just off the mold.
Paracord will shrink approximately 10% to 12% when wet and will take a "set" once it has been immersed in water.  This is the inner filler fibers shrinking, not the outer braided sheath. Repeated wettings will result in a bit more shrinkage each time until the material has reached equilibrium.

See more of these paracord bracelets in the paracord section of my Etsy shop.

Ella says...

Ella says: "I like these rope bracelets because they don't fall apart. I have some other ones that come undone but not these!"

In the active on-the-go world of a busy pre teen having a quality rope bracelet is important. The last thing you need is for it to come undone while swimming or hanging out with friends.

All WhatKnotShop rope bracelets are made with high quality materials. Each is worked up to a finished shape (except for the DIY kits) ready for the beach. The loose ends are carefully stitched up to prevent fraying and unraveling. This sturdy kid approved construction means that you can have a summer full of fun with your favorite rope bracelet and never worry  about it coming apart.

Here are three new handmade rope bracelets from the summer collection:
Three part teal blue made with smooth texture hand dyed cord.
Five part grey herringbone made with soft twisted cable cord.
Wider nine part ecru herringbone made with un-dyed cotton blend cable cord.

A closeup of the nine part herringbone bracelet showing the distinctive "v" patterns created by the double overlapping weave. The herringbone weave makes an extra stretchy bracelet that can expand to fit over a larger hand but will shrink down to a comfortable snug fit.

"I really like to wear my bracelets all the time, like even when I'm going skiing and I have to pull a sweater on over them."

Find a favorite for your summer...

by the sea

Here's a view of the lower east passage of Naragansett Bay. In the distance is Rams Head part of Aquidneck Island where the famous resort and tourist town of Newport is located. The sailboats are tacking into a moderate southerly breeze. In the foreground are some of the product inventory that I'm trying to replace for the online shops.

In order: black, white, fuchsia pink, purple, and orange.

Here's some of the all cotton three part white cotton rope bracelets that are popular with beach goers and sailing crews.
Newport RI located just across the bay is home to many day charter operations that offer visitors a chance to sail on these very picturesque boats. The weather is warm and sunny, the wind is up and the sailing is great!

blue and green BASIC rope bracelets 2062

BASIC bracelets are the collection of simple five part turks head knot rope bracelets that you can actually adjust to make a custom fit right on your wrist. This special order design combines two colors of hand dyed cord in a single bracelet to create a cool blue-green mix of color.

The all cotton braided cord is soft and feels relaxed against your skin. The special dye mix has been treated to prevent color wash-out.
The size adjustment works the same way for single colors as it does for these multi-color variations. Read about how to adjust for your perfect fit here.

These bracelets are supplied in two sizes which will fit just about everyone: The "large" size comes in 8 1/2" (216 mm) and can be worked down to about a 7" size. The "medium" size comes in 6 1/2" (165 mm) and can work down to about 5" or so.

Find the entire collection of BASIC bracelets here and remember that you can order any of the colors in either large or medium sizes at no extra charge.

Wide white herringbone turks head bracelet 480

White nylon material comes in a variety of sizes and finishes. This material is a soft core with a braided outer shell. It's a bit more than 1/8" in diameter but rather soft to the touch which makes for a nice smooth texture.

Here's a 41 bight double weave herringbone design that has not been doubled. The cord is substantial enough to hold a flexible but firm shape. Size is "huge" at 9 1/4" (230 mm) inside circumference and 2 1/4" (58 mm) wide.

double weave herringbone rope bracelet designs

Had these made earlier but am just now getting around to posting them. These designs are "narrow" turks head knots made in 3 mm hand dyed cotton cord in an "over-two/under two" sequence.

This is a medium gray

This one is a very light gray.

And of course blue.

Red is always a nice eye-catching color. One of my favorites.

The herringbone weave is thicker but stretches a bit more so will fit a wider range of sizes. This series is a "medium" measuring 7 1/2" inside circumference.
