Soft laid cotton cord takes the dye in a variegated range producing a rather pleasing color outcome. Some of the fibers acquire intense color, others less so producing slight color contrasts when the cord is made up into bracelets.

This collection shows a limited range of color including purple, pool-bottom blue, lighter teal blue, and a teal center stripe combination.

The "white" is actually a near white or ecru color which shifts the color slightly grey.

blue paracord rope bracelet 3964

Thinner 325 paracord is used to create this nicely proportioned 12 part bracelet. The weave is a double diamond design so the knot assumes a handsome symmetrical shape when drawn up on the mold.

The color is a darker shade of royal not quite purple enough to be navy blue.

The paracord has a three strand core and is both soft and waterproof ideal for outdoor wear.

 Lightweight and colorful these sting bracelets are double loops of braided cotton cord with cotton floss accents. The overlapping ends are secured with a traditional coach whipping of waxed thread.

green and blue handwoven basket weave rope cuff bracelet 3208

Another of the new year's experimental basket weave rope cuffs. The idea was to see what could be made from the shorter pieces of cord that are cut off of the larger bulk runs of colored cord used to make the turks head knot bracelets.

This one uses a mix of braided and twisted cord which produces tapered shape. The twisted cord is slightly smaller diameter causing the weave to be a bit tighter. The green cord is tensioned to create the curved shape on the far end.

 The color mix is navy, grey, green, and a couple of intermediate blue-green colors from my cut off ends collection. The weft is a black polyester with nine loops.


Size is a relaxed 7" (178 mm) inside circumference but the weave is somewhat flexible to expand to about 8" or so.

The ends are stitched and trimmed on the inside of the cuff as you can see.
