beaded turks head knot bracelet 3062

 Here's another beaded knot bracelet made with hand dyed cotton cord and seed beads.

The cord is a 3 mm smooth surface cotton that has been dyed a tan/taupe color. Read more about the small batch dye process here.

The beads are 8/0 Toho seed beads strung on 4 ply high strength nylon thread.
 The bracelet is constructed with the two outer strands. The beads are strung on the thread then interwoven into the two strand knot. Read more about Placing the center strand here.

I like the sympathetic color relationship between the beads and the cord color. This is a "small" size bracelet made to demonstrate the concept and color. Larger sizes can be made to order.

                  Available here

hybrid weave turks head knot bracelet white nylon 2758

 This is a 14 bight x 15 part x 2 strand compound or hybrid weave turks head knot made with ordinary 1/8" white nylon cord.

The weave pattern is:
U2-O2-u1-o1-u1-o1-u1-o1-U2-O2+running part

U = "under"
O= "over"

The layout was done on a 10-1/2" cardboard tube using about 30 ft of cord

The edges come out with the thicker double layer of cord while the center area is thinner, roughly this shape:
  ________                               _________
(_________)_____________(__________)
(__________________________________)

how to adjust the slip-knot rope bracelet

 This tutorial shows how to adjust the size of the nautical slip-knot rope bracelet.

These bracelets are available here.

Remove bracelet from package. Lay flat as shown.

Separate monkey fist knot from loop.

Grab cord attached to monkey fist knot.

Note: There are two cords that pass through the barrel knot that can be adjusted to equalize the size of the bracelet.

Pull cord through barrel knot.

Expand bracelet, slip on over hand.

Pull on monkey fist knot to tighten up bracelet.

Note: If the fixed loops are unequal size, expand the bracelet and pull on the other running cord to equalize the loop size.

Adjust to a comfortable fit. Replace monkey fist in loop to hold loose ends together.

These bracelets are available here.

Part 5: continuing the pattern

Here the center crossing is clearly established and visible. Keep the opposite over-under pattern going based on the adjacent part.

bulk cord in white and hand dyed colors available here

Always OVER at the last part on the outside.

The gaps at the edges will start to shrink as the number of standing parts increases. Keep adjusting the rubber bands to maintain a "V" shaped space on each outside edge.

Here the parallel strands can be seen in the same over-under pattern across the center of the diamond.

Keep working around and back and forth.
