yellow rope bracelets 2863

This collection of knotted bracelets is made from a very soft and flexible synthetic cord. As you can see the color is a bright yellow with red and blue thread accents. The red and blue are actually individual strands of the woven sheath which surrounds the core.

This material came from a big-box retailer and is a 9/16" diameter made with a soft fiber core so it is very soft to the touch and quite flexible.

On the left is the single strand design minimal profile only 1/2" (13 mm) wide.

In the center is the two strand design a bit more substantial at 1 1/8" (28 mm) but very soft and stretchy.

On the right is the symmetrical three part three strand design a full 1 3/4" (33 mm) wide.

Available from extra small to extra large. This group measures between 6 1/2" (165 mm) to 7" (178 mm)

You can choose size and width when you order

grey and yellow beaded tribal inspired cuff bracelet 2517

Here's another variation on the two-rib cuff design. The ribs are the layered clothesline cords that form the edges and are the structure of the cuff. The loops and buttons are stitched in these heavy cords. The infill cords and beads are laid out inside the edge cords held in place with long needles. Four ply nylon thread is passed through at 90 degrees and tensioned to form the cuff.

Each of these starts out with a similar structure but  develop into unique expressions as the materials are assembled.
The center row of beads are a collection of irregular shapes in a mostly blue green range. These are threaded into the nylon thread during the layout process. When the thread is tensioned the beads and cord are pulled tightly together forming a fabric. This tensioning process is done in sequence to gradually tighten the assembly from the center to the ends.

The resulting form is quite stiff and self supporting for a bunch of string!
The edges are actually three cords arranged in a triangular relationship. This creates two seams on each rib: one outside, one inside. These seams are where the rows of glass seed beads are stitched in.

Colors are a mix of blues, greens and, off-white. The rib cords are a medium grey.

Size is a firm "medium" 7 1/2" (191 mm) inside circumference when closed.
Two brown plastic buttons and loops make this easy to open but secure when closed.

Look for this and other unique pieces in the fiber art design section of my Etsy shop.

I'll always choose you collection by Jen on Etsy

Choice is good. It's even better when someone says I'll always choose you like Jen an art grad from SLC. She's a book maker, no not that kind. She creates handsome journals and sketchbooks like this Travel Watercolor Sketchbook to take along on your next art safari. Check out her shop SouthJenni on Etsy and her facebook page as well.

I also like this Vintage Nemadji Style Pottery Vase the clay body looks like an object carved directly from the earth. More vintage home decor at the fifthseason or at the other Etsy shop fifthquadrant.

Maybe it's the facial expression on the model but who can resist the CUSTOM Tribal Head Band Recycled T Shirt Yarn in your choice of colors. Marley's got a shop named Saxlib filled with indie fashion made from reclaimed material. She's out of the office at halogen fashion week so be patient when you order.

The featured item in this collection is sunshine yellow turks head knot rope bracelet one of the popular colors in the solid colors collection on Etsy. See an expanded range of rope bracelets in my Zibbet shop where there are no listing fees or expiration dates (nice!) Both larger and smaller sizes are available by special order click here to make your request

yellow, orange and gold cotton fiber Möbius bracelet 1400

This is another in an occasional series of experiments with creating fiber wrapped pieces. This one is made from braided cotton clothesline wrapped with cotton floss. The colors are bright canary yellow, gold, and bright tangerine orange. The clothesline is stitched together with nylon thread before wrapping to provide stability. It's three strands and they are constructed in a Möbius strip geometry out of a single piece of cord.
Size is extra large measuring 9 1/4" (234 mm) inside circumference.

neon bright colors in traditional rope bracelet weaves

Bright synthetic cord is used to create these classics. The traditional three part plain weave design made with 5/32" cord. Unlike cotton cord theses will never shrink and will never rot. The colors are integral to the material. The first example is a very bright lemon yellow in a 17 bight weave about 8 1/4" (209 mm) inside circumference. (1280)
This example is a deep electric purple also made in a 17 bight weave design. (1281)

Find these listed in the solid colors section of the ArtFire  shop. If you like the color but need a different size please message me: use the "contact artisan" button on the left side of the screen.
This one is a really nice blue color that is impossible to replicate in cotton. The size is smaller only 6 3/4" (174 mm) made in a 14 bight pattern. (1282)

More neon brights can be found in the Etsy Shop

multi colored wide cord fabric cuff bracelet 1195

A warm pallet of color including brown, orange, pink, red, black with yellow and green accents. Extra large and extra wide slip-on style cuff bracelet made with up-cycled cords. The continuous design has no seams or closure toggles.
Four ply nylon binding thread keeps the cord structure in a semi-rigid but flexible form. Thread ends are buried. This bracelet was made on a cylindrical mold. The cords were laid out and secured with long needles. The nylon thread is passed back and forth to establish the spacing then drawn up to consolidate the final shape. The cord compresses to about 50% of the relaxed shape.

desert sunset beaded 3 button cuff bracelet 1194

This project is another that has been sitting in my partially complete box waiting for a decision about the closure design. After messing around with several ideas I worked out a nice lie-flat three button solution.

The colors are bright southwest desert inspired oranges, pinks, yellow, red and purple. Embedded glass beads emulate the treasure hidden in the folds of the earth and visible only to the mind's eye and the careful observer...
The toggle closure system is three loops of cotton cord and buttons. The center loop passes through the red loop then secures on the center button. The two outer loops fit over the smaller buttons.

The center loop and button showing the white loop passing through the red loop.
loop over button on the left...

a row of red glass beads is visible just below the buttons.
Loop over button on the right...secure
