 More basket weave series cuffs, this one is a double weave three color design. All cotton hand dyed cord worked over a braided cotton core.

 Made with autumn colors of faded red, brown, black, rust, tan hand dyed cord. Large size 8 5/8" (219 mm) circumference. Mold formed with high tensile strength nylon thread edge stitched.

 Glass seed beads are seamed into the cord fabric. Two buttons and loops secure the closure.

wrapped leather cord button bracelet 2781

 This design is made from 2 mm round leather cord waxed cotton thread a wood bead and a plastic button.

It's a lightweight sophisticated accessory that will add a touch of boho style.

This detail shows the loops and the button closure. The bead adds a little symmetry to the closure system.

The waxed thread is wrapped around the cords securing them tightly. A loop is used to capture the loose end which is then pulled under the wrap then the ends are trimmed.

chocolate and cherry cotton turks head knot bracelet 2717

Two nice colors together in a traditional plain weave turks head knot bracelet. The brown color is the stock cord from Darice made with polyester and the red is a custom dye bath made with RIT scarlet dye. The white 3 mm cord is immersed for about 2 minutes. More on the dye process here.

This five part design is started with the brown cord built on a mold in a 17 bight double diamond pattern. The red cord is added once the knot is complete.

one button rope bracelet with wood barrel beads 2666

 The one-button design is as versatile as there are materials available...this one is made with 3/16" cotton braid for the framing cords, some bright white nylon braid, and two lengths of hand dyed tan cotton cord.

 The center is a row of variegated color but regular shaped wood beads obtained at the store. See the previous post for the latest on DIY paper beads used in these bracelet designs.

The white nylon highlights the warm color of the wood. The tan cords give this a nice earthy color.

Size is a "medium" about 7 1/2" (191 mm) inside circumference.

anti clastic beaded cuff bracelet handmade artifact fiber art bracelet 1673

 This modern primitive cuff is made with a cotton piping material and hand dyed cotton cord forming the distinctive anti-clastic shape. Rows of glass beads are embedded in the seams.

6 mm wood beads are embedded in the seam on one side. The other side has a row of red and brown wood beads.

This cuff is secured with two plastic buttons and loops. Size closed is 7 3/4" (197 mm) inside circumference.

brown and white rope bracelet cuff 1572

 Here's a big soft turks head knot cuff made from a mix of white cotton and brown polyester cords. This rope bracelet is made in a 19x13x2 weave design and will slip over your hand with plenty of built in stretch.

herringbone weave bracelet in brown leather cord 1392

This is an "over-two, under-two" herringbone weave bracelet made with 2 mm brown leather cord. The size of this example is 7" (178 mm). Both larger and smaller sizes can be made. This is the same weave design as can be seen in many other herringbone designs made with cotton cord. The leather cord is untreated so it creaks a bit when flexed kind of like an old wicker chair when you sit on it.

cotton cord fabric cuff bracelet with glass beads 1231

 A pair of blue plastic buttons and loops hold the corners of this organic collection of cord and beads. Multiple mixed fiber cords are laid out then stitched together with a collection of irregular glass beads. The binding process compresses the cords together and the beads are embedded in the layers. Two opposing loops overlap with a seam of turquoise bubble beads between them. Cotton floss is applied to the edges to highlight the structure. This is one of the design )strata( series of fabric cord bracelets.

This view shows the buttons and loops.  The four ply nylon binder remains in constant state of tension holding the cords and beads firmly in position. This is a medium-small size measuring 7" (178 mm) circumference when closed.

multi colored wide cord fabric cuff bracelet 1195

A warm pallet of color including brown, orange, pink, red, black with yellow and green accents. Extra large and extra wide slip-on style cuff bracelet made with up-cycled cords. The continuous design has no seams or closure toggles.

 Four ply nylon binding thread keeps the cord structure in a semi-rigid but flexible form. Thread ends are buried. This bracelet was made on a cylindrical mold. The cords were laid out and secured with long needles. The nylon thread is passed back and forth to establish the spacing then drawn up to consolidate the final shape. The cord compresses to about 50% of the relaxed shape.

double button toggle fiber cuff bracelet small 1057

New double button toggle closure design )strata( bracelet made with hand dyed cotton cord, polyester cord, and synthetic cord scraps up cycled and bound together with four ply nylon thread. This bracelet has a pair of grey plastic buttons that engage a pair of loops to secure the closure.

 Size is "medium-small" measuring 7 1/8" (181 mm) circumference.
Colors are brown, grey, blue, green, black, and white.

 This is a combination of tan, brown, black, yellow and orange cords with two glass and one wood bead to create a lightweight flexible slip-on bracelet. The style is 100% frayed. The size is large measuring 8 5/8" (219 mm) inside circumference.
As with all the design )strata( series this piece is made with up cycled segments of hand dyed cotton cord. The beads are irregular and random. The construction is four ply nylon thread which binds the materials together under tension.
