blue tooth dinosaur spiked rope bracelet 2909

More from the land before time...this little cuff is bluetooth compatible but you can't pair it to another device unless it's your wrist.

The polymer clay "teeth" are securely stitched into the fabric using high strength nylon thread.

Very tribal

This one is like several other dinosaur cuffs:

lighthouse red rope bracelet 2822

Sometimes the simplest thing is the strongest design like for example this lighthouse red turks head knot bracelet made from 3 mm cord.

The weave design is a 12 bight double diamond pattern so the work up process produces a nice symmetrical shape without having to compensate for cord diameter. This example is a "small" size 6 3/4" (172 mm) inside diameter. Like most of these designs this one can stretch out to about  7 1/2"

read about how to measure your hand for size
The five part weave is wider and is further emphasized by the three strands of cord  resulting in a full 1 1/2" (37 mm) width.

To find out more about knot terminology here

This cord material is a smooth braided cotton product that takes the dye evenly and retains it's soft texture when dried out.
More color choices are available in the solid color section of my Etsy shop.

Most colors can be produced in small medium and large sizes by request.

wide weave re-shapeable herringbone rope bracelet 2768

This functional cuff is made with a hybrid herringbone weave that features a tapered edge. Instead of the usual "over two - under two" the edge is a single over/under which gives it a thinner more contoured shape.

You can see the single overlap on either side in the photo to the left.

The herringbone weave allows this cuff to stretch to 8 5/8" (219 mm) to slip over your hand, then it can be re-shaped to fit snugly on your wrist.
This design uses about 19 ft of 1/8" braided nylon cord and is made on an oversize cylindrical mold.

Maximum width is about 2 1/4" (56 mm) when fully compressed.

Here's another similar design you might like.

Here's a hybrid design with a double thickness edge.

one button rope bracelet with paper beads 2765

The irregular color and texture of handmade paper beads is a nice pairing with the textured fabric created by compressing the hand dyed cotton cords in this small bracelet. These are smaller 6-8 mm mostly round (remember I did say irregular?) made from glossy catalog pages and coated with a waterproof sealant.

If you have never seen paper beads before read more about how to make them here. Many of you already know about the possibilities which are vast!
The button is a 1/2" (7 mm) brown plastic. The framing cords are a 9/16" cotton braid. Infill cords are hand dyed cotton in shades of slate blue, copper green and grey.

Read the illustrated tutorial showing the construction technique here.

Size for this piece is "small" only 7" (178 mm) soon to be available online.

yellow rope bracelets 2863

This collection of knotted bracelets is made from a very soft and flexible synthetic cord. As you can see the color is a bright yellow with red and blue thread accents. The red and blue are actually individual strands of the woven sheath which surrounds the core.

This material came from a big-box retailer and is a 9/16" diameter made with a soft fiber core so it is very soft to the touch and quite flexible.

On the left is the single strand design minimal profile only 1/2" (13 mm) wide.

In the center is the two strand design a bit more substantial at 1 1/8" (28 mm) but very soft and stretchy.

On the right is the symmetrical three part three strand design a full 1 3/4" (33 mm) wide.

Available from extra small to extra large. This group measures between 6 1/2" (165 mm) to 7" (178 mm)

You can choose size and width when you order

nylon hybrid weave turks head knot bracelet 2760

Two weave patterns are combined in this interesting knot bracelet: Each edge has a herringbone (over 2-under 2) pattern which then shifts to a plain weave in the center.

This design is a "square" turks head with 14 bights and 15 parts.

Here is a related wider design.

The material is a 1/8" high density braided nylon cord which is a nice bright white color. This material is easy to work in the knot and unlike cotton tends to hold it's size without shrinking.

size relaxed:
7" (178 mm) inside circumference
2 1/4" (55 mm) inside diameter
2 3/4" (96 mm) wide

will stretch slightly to about 7 1/2"
The weave pattern is:
U2-O2-u1-o1-u1-o1-u1-o1-U2-O2 which has been doubled to bulk up the size.

two part rope bracelet 2797

This two part weave design is made using a mold and a segment of braided cotton line. The cord is laid out loose on the mold then the second pass is looped under the first pass 13 times. This pattern is tripled and the loose ends laid parallel.

The shape is worked up to a firm fit on the mold.
This type of knot is inherently unstable so there is an invisible web of nylon thread that holds the pattern secure. This thread is edge stitched through the plies and across the knot at the crossing points.

Here's a similar design made with glass beads at the crossing points.

This example is about 8" (205 mm) inside circumference.
Many size variations are possible with this design. It can be made on a larger mold with more crossings or smaller with fewer crossings. The diameter of the cord can be changed to adjust proportions and scale.

wrapped leather cord button bracelet 2781

This design is made from 2 mm round leather cord waxed cotton thread a wood bead and a plastic button.

It's a lightweight sophisticated accessory that will add a touch of boho style.
This detail shows the loops and the button closure. The bead adds a little symmetry to the closure system.
The waxed thread is wrapped around the cords securing them tightly. A loop is used to capture the loose end which is then pulled under the wrap then the ends are trimmed.

Soon to be available online.
